We’ve done it again.... the staff at River and Trail have hijacked the Facebook account! You see, today is a very special day, It’s Sean’s birthday! We won’t talk numbers here but it’s a special one and we wanted to send our best wishes to the best boss around! Sean thank you for all you do and for being such on awesome leader in all of our River and Trail adventures! Cheers from all of us!!!

Buff is back in stock! This time around we brought in the filter masks and tubes for both kids and adults. These are great for skiing and just about anything else we can think of. We also have replacement filters to keep on adventuring. Come check it out!

Before we close out 2020, we (the staff) have a special mention/e-introduction to make. Sean and Sarah don't know we created this post - they would have told us it wasn't necessary but we've hijacked the account because they deserve a shout out. You may or may not know Sarah as she does a lot of behind the scenes magic - including selecting items to sell in our store. She is Sean's other half and she is the hidden gem of River & Trail. She is always smiling and checks in with... all of the staff to make sure we're happy and healthy. You don't always see her but you see her touch. She is a big reason the store is as beautiful as it is. And you all know Sean. He is the humble leader of River & Trail with a memory to beat the rest of us. He is the reason the store operates smoothly and he makes it seem effortless. River & Trail is such a great space and somewhere we want to come to work - heck, most of us drive a long distance to do just that. We will never stop learning from Sean, both about technical gear and business. He cares deeply for us and our customers and works harder than anyone to keep everything moving forward. In short, he's the best boss we, the staff, have ever had. Thank you Sean and Sarah for all that you do for us and our community! And Happy New Year everybody!

You're someone who loves to hike, backpack, paddle, run, climb, or ski (or a combination of any of those). We also hope that you like to share your adventure stories and inspire our customers to live their lives outside. Do you have outdoor retail experience? Great if you do, but if not, no biggie. We have some awesome pe...ople here who can show you the ropes. Flexibility regarding when you work is also important as we are open weekdays, evenings, and weekends. The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival & World Tour! As many of you suspected, Hemmings House Pictures and River & Trail will not be hosting our live screening of this year's Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival & World Tour. Instead, you can enjoy the festival from the comfort of your own home! And all of our proceeds will be donated to a yet to be determined local non-profit environmental group. More on that in the near future. The festival has created two different program...s: AMBER and ONYX. Each program costs $15 USD or you can purchase the bundle for $28 USD. Since launching our new website in April, it's been (and will continue to be) a learning curve. Recently, we've noticed a couple common issues customers are running into including finding the local pick up selection and check out errors. For selecting 'Free Local Pick Up' at check out, all you need is a local address and the default selection will be local pick up. You will also have an option for shipping, if you prefer. We've pinned a 'How-To' story on our Instagram p...rofile so you can see it in action. Additionally, for whatever reason, Internet Explorer and our checkout process don't get along. If you are receiving an error message at checkout, you may have to try another browser. If you've been to the store recently, you may have noticed a colourful array of packs near the front cash. So, our Black Friday sale looks a little different this year. We are offering our sale ONLINE ONLY. Times are strange and we want to do our part to keep our community safe by encouraging online shopping. However, our store is still open to customers and we are doing everything in our power to keep it sanitized to keep you safe. So, if you prefer to shop in store, please come visit! We also want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for being so supportive... since COVID-19 first hit our community and us, along with our many friends had to close our doors temporarily. From day 1, you continued to support us through phone orders and even trying on footwear outside. We've all had to adjust how to do things but you've stayed with us throughout it all. You have kept us running and overwhelmed us with support since we were able to open our doors again - this time, at our new location. 2020 has been a year of uncertainty but thanks to our incredible, amazing and loyal customers, you have kept us thriving.
