We want to build up that m...eaning to include 'when you're struggling, seek help.' 2020 really put a damper on rodeo in Canada. It was a really tough year. So we want to check in. The CPRA cares about the overall health of our athletes, members and fans - which includes their mental health. In 2021 and beyond, we need to have more conversations with each other to break the stigma around suicide and other mental illness. We applaud the efforts being made in this area with our Canadian Pro Rodeo Sport Medicine Team (CPRSMT), and the Ty Pozzobon Foundation (https://www.typozzobon.com/) along with the great conversations happening around mental health with Brett Gardiner and others. As the year comes to an end, 2020 was a record year with having the entire season cancelled due to the pandemic. A few constants remained though including dedicated members, committees, sponsors & the Polaris Raffle. All extremely important to the success & longevity of the BCRA, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue without these key components. Roughstock riders & fans we have an exciting update for the 2021 season! There is a new points program between the BCRA & CPRA for the novice roughstock events, full rule details below. Please note the new rule will be added to the Rulebook for the 2021 season. New rule: The Points to count for Novice Roughstock with the CPRA, only under the following guidelines: contestants would hold both a CPRA Novice Permit and BCRA Card, contestants would be ages 21 and under. Events would include Novice Saddle Bronc, Novice Bare Back & Novice Bull Riding. Money won at BCRA Rodeos, Wild Card and Finals would count towards CPRA Season Earnings Standings.

The 2020 AGM is this Saturday at 11:00am in Williams Lake at the Gibraltar Room. Below are the guidelines we must follow to ensure we have a safe AGM and are within the rental agreement guidelines. *Please enter/exit on the backside of the complex ... *The AGM is open to BCRA voting members only, please do not bring any non voting individuals with you, this is to ensure we are able to follow the 50 attendee maximum requirement *We will have a sign in & hand sanitizer station upon entering the meeting, individual sanitized pens will be provided, along with individual AGM packages, voting cards & nomination slips *All chairs will be 6 ft apart *Masks are not mandatory, but are encouraged *If you exit the meeting, please sanitize your hands upon re-entry The AGM will be in person only, due to a variety of factors there will be no zoom, etc option. The minutes will be posted to the website on Monday. We appreciate your willingness to follow these guidelines, and understand if you cannot attend.
