SAANICH PENINSUL...A Farmer Dan (Dan's Farm ) says: "We are still picking lots of strawberries, through next week, and are also picking lots of broccoli and some beans. Rob Galey (Galey Farms) also reports in that Galey Farm will have strawberries "rain or shine". How about fresh roast chicken for dinNer this weekend? Farmer Phil (Phil's Farm) has fresh chickens this weekend, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ireland Farms in Saanichton writes: "We’ve got ‘Naturally Raised Free Range’ chickens available." Also, a reminder that Starling Lane Winery and Heritage Farm are hosting the 4th Annual Jane Austen Tea Party "in an English country garden" today and Sunday, from 1-4pm. Today is National Aboriginal Day join us for a dedication of "Sky Woman" by sculptor Michel Beauvais a member of the Kahnawake Mohawk Band. We will also have a carving demonstration and other art work on display. Festivities begin at 2:00 PM with the sculpture dedication at 5:30 PM.
