It's #worldcarfreeday today so ride your bike over to #dudechillingpark and get one one of the last @johnnyspops of the season! HUB Cycling is also running the #ridehourchallenge today so see if you can get on your bike for an hour today. Make up your own "commute" or get out for a lunchtime ride. #coffeecart #espressocart #carfreeday #carfree #biketrailer #coffeebike #scavengercoffee #bikebasedbusiness #dailyhivevan #dishedvan

Today is one of the last chances to catch a peek at one of these good looking faces at Dude Chilling Park! We're trying to outrun the weather, but it's catching up, and the forecast is looking like . Grab a hot coffee before we're rained out for the season!

The flip side of our new sign. Diana likes to keep the chalk smudges to show that it's legit. You can try all of these delightful things at Dude Chilling Park, 10 - 3 today. I hear rumours that @meltcity might be there as well from 2:30 onwards..... Copper frame originally made by the talented @neudels In its previous life it was a clothing display for @onlychildapparel (Etsy shop now closed) Diana made some small alterations to it such as re-soldering the top corners with rounded corners. She also added leather straps with brass hardware to hang the sign which is made of 1/8" baltic birth plywood painted with several coats of chalkboard paint. Every letter was painstakingly drawn on with chalk and then re-drawn with paint to make it waterproof. End result is a lightweight sign that stows flat and can fit underneath our cart. #handlettered #repurposed #chalkart #sandwichboard #yvrdesign #coffeecart #coffeebike #vancouvercoffeeshop #vancouvercoffee #scavengercoffee #steampunk #copperandleather #diy #handmade #makersofvancouver

On Thursday last week we were so happy to be able to cater @fissioncodes launch party. They had to scrap their original indoor plans and decided to do an outdoor park meetup. Sun, Dude Chilling Park, @johnnyspops and coffee from @agroroasters made for a good time :) If you're a developer, check Fission out for app hosting with user-controlled data, like an open-source iCloud. Talk to @bmann for lots more info. If you're looking for a nice way to have an employee meet-up, why not do an outdoor one. Summer has finally hit and we can make it happen with iced coffees and delicious popsicles.

One thing we've really appreciated about being next to Dude Chilling Park is everyone is so interested in the little details of the cart. Call us crazy but we hammered words into 28 end caps, letter by letter with individual punches. See if you can find them all and the coffee’s on us Scroll to the end to see some crazy details on a bike we saw in Mexico. Road warrior Diana. After a long hiatus we're back on the streets! We're trying out some new spots, today we'll be at the South-east corner of Woodland Park on the Adanac bikeway soaking up the sun. We've got some freshly roasted Ethiopian beans from @agroroasters get em while they're hot!... #backagain #backonthestreets #coffeeoutside #coffeebike #coffeecart #scavengercoffee #lapavoni #vancouvercoffee #foodtruck #foodcart #localbusiness @ Woodland Park East Vancouver Bc

When we upsized from our little yellow sun umbrella to our 10’x10’ red rain umbrella for the winter we discovered it wouldn’t fit through our existing umbrella hole. We didn’t have a hole saw big enough so Diana carved it out by hand with a small blade. The next problem was that her custom made copper flange was designed for the smaller diameter yellow umbrella shaft. We pulled out the original flange and made do with a rough hole in our countertop for far too long, long enou...gh that we started damaging the epoxy finish around the edge of the hole . Diana scrounged around our local scrapyard @northstarmetalrecycling and found a larger diameter copper pipe that would work. She explains the process of making the flanges in one of our earlier posts. The finishing touch is a leather wrap around the exterior of the pipe. The nice thing about doing it this way is you don’t have to glue it in, it’s just a friction fit and you can pop it out later, like if you change your umbrella. . . . #raincouver #metalworking #leatherworking #diy #designsolutions #cartupgrades #copper #leather #coffeecart #coffeebike #makersofvancouver #streetcoffee #scavengercoffee @ Vancouver, British Columbia
