Scouten Engineering 23.11.2020

A lot happened in 1995. Scouten Engineering was founded by Dave Scouten, and in the same year, a small website called Ebay launched. Did you know that a Canadian, Mark Fraser, purchased the first item that eBay founder Pierre Omidyar listed on the site. It was a broken laser pointer. We're proud to celebrate 25 years in business. ... #Scouten25Years #Engineering #ScoutenEngineering #Throwback #PrinceGeorgeBC

Due to their unforeseen closure in March, The Exploration Place is looking for extra community support this year. They're currently renovating the space and making some changes to their programming to offer us an even better experience in the future. The Exploration Place is taking part in #GivingTuesday on December 1st, and 'tis the season to give back. Visit their Giving Tuesday Canada page to find out more: https://bit.ly/3kxTSfP

We're based in Prince George and know our region inside and out, but our engineers have been lucky to work all over Canada. About five years ago, our teams travelled to the Keeyask Hydroelectric project, an electricity generating station and one of the largest construction projects ever in Manitoba. On this design build project, Scouten Engineering worked with Metric Modular (previously called Britco LP). Our engineers provided the civil design, drafting, and other engineeri...ng services during construction of the 2,500 person accommodation area. We're proud to celebrate 25 years in business. #Scouten25Years #Engineering #ScoutenEngineering #Throwback #PrinceGeorgeBC

In the theme of looking back at Scouten's 25 year history, we think it's always fascinating to learn about #engineering history across the globe. After all, civil engineering is one of the oldest engineering disciplines in the world. Have a look at the amazing engineering in India and Pakistan, where stepwells, some up to 13 stories deep, were built for water storage and to help locals cope with seasonal fluctuations in the water supply. Although not in use any more, many of these structures still exist for us to be amazed. #Scouten25Years #Stepwell #CivilEngineering #ScoutenEngineering

One of our favourite projects for the complexity of calculations and design turning into a rather beautiful shape at Brilliant Dam expansion project in Castlegar BC. This angle portrays it as almost like the Nautilus shell spiral. As we celebrate 25 years of Scouten Engineering, we are looking back at some of our favourite projects. But we are also looking forward with renewed passion and pursuit of excellence. If you have a project requiring innovative solutions to challeng...ing situation, talk to us today. https://bit.ly/2TIUWCB #ScoutenEngineering #Engineering #BrilliantDam #CastlegarBC #Scouten25Years
