Please be advised of a storm system that will be moving into the Fort George district later this evening with accumulations of 10-20 cms throughout the District.... The snow will be moving in from the west around 6 pm this evening. Storm intensity is then expected to increase around 2 am Monday morning before starting to taper off around 7 am and move to the east near Dome Creek. Temperatures will remain below freezing through the night which will result in limited visibility from blowing snow. A second wave of precipitation is expected to move into the District later Monday morning but may come in the form of freezing rain or ice pellets as temperatures rise. Road conditions will deteriorate quickly with the combination of rain on compact surfaces. Freezing rain is only expected near Prince George and Summit Lake as temperatures will be cooler further to the north and east. Abrasive applications will be utilized to assist with traction through the storm. Please check @DriveBC for current road conditions & #KnowBeforeYouGo Give yourself extra time for your Monday morning commute and get to where you are going safely! #drivetotheconditions #bcstorm #ShiftIntoWinter #OctoberStorm See more
