Many people have asked what we are doing differently since our re-opening in June...... To be honest, not a heck of a lot has changed. We always practiced sanitation and disinfection practices, including hand washing between guests. So many of you want to know why things haven’t changed. Here’s why.... we are mandated by Northern Health to protect the public. This means we clean and disinfect common surfaces and working tools between every guest. We have always done this. He...re are some things we do for peace of mind: CS20 is a chemo sterilant that is used to kill viruses, bacteria, fungus and spores. We use this sterilant on semi-critical instruments, such as cuticle nippers, for example. Did you know CS20 is the more responsible solution for disinfection without the use of harsh chemicals? The active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, which breaks down into water and oxygen, therefore making this sterilant earth friendly. New nail files are used on each guest. We do not use whirlpool pedicure tubs. These are a breeding ground for bacteria and fungus, as the jets and water lines cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected. Our solution? Biodegradable pedicure tub liners. These are a single use liner that is disposed of between each guest. Spatulas are used to scoop facial creams, rather than using dirty fingers. Barbicide is used to disinfect combs, brushes, shears, etc. This is to prevent the spread of contagious skin diseases, such as ringworm and parasites, such a lice. No one wants that! Our staff are wearing masks, and in some instances, gloves during a service. These are just a few things we are doing to keep you safe! We are transparent about our practices and welcome you to join us in our safe and relaxing environment. We won’t make you stand on dots and we don’t have arrows.
