Dear parishioners, We would like to invite you and your families to our end of year family picnic. The event is aimed at families with children between 0 - 16 years of age and we require at least one parent per family to attend. This event is being organised by the Sunday School (Catechism) teachers of St George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral and is being sponsored by the Philoptochos of our church. ... We will be serving picnic food and drinks as well as setting up some activities for the children including crafts and games! We do ask that you bring a picnic blanket and chairs for your own use. You are also welcome to bring your own food but this must be clearly labelled showing all ingredients included. Please no nuts. Please register your attendance by 11th June to Constantina at 604-220-2908 stating the number of attendees including the ages of your children. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new families. Yours In Christ Fr Nikolaos Victoria Kletas Vivian Beciaris Soula Papapanagiotou Constantina Petrou-Bonis

The Hellenic Community Greek School team spent the last two months studying the guidelines and creating a COVID-19 Health and Safety plan for our students, their caregivers and our teachers. This plan incorporates the recommendations from the BC Governments Restart plan. The five key constructs of our plan are: * Pre-camp education and communication, * Health checks for participants and staff, * Physical distancing methodologies, * PPE as required by regional health authorities * Thorough cleaning and sanitizing routines during and after classrooms. Our classes are small and social distancing will not be an issue, along with face masks for our instructors where needed, and signage and barriers to keep students and their teachers appropriately separated from each other. What documents did we consult to create our Health and Safety Plan? We consulted many official documents from BC and other parts of the country; however, these are the primary drivers of our plan: The BC Restart Plan BCs COVID-19 Go Forward Management Strategy & Checklist BCRPA Restarting Guidelines For spacing: * 2 metre radius or more per person for active activities * 5 metre square distance per person suggested to calculate occupancy for ensuring 2 metre distance can be maintained between people. BCRPA Restarting Guidelines, Appendix 4. Thank you for your attention to this and your cooperation. Sincerely, The Greek School
