We are updating our waiting room slide show and we want YOUR pictures! We are looking for recent photos (from the last 2 or 3 years) of our patients with their braces on or after treatment has finished! Send us your wedding, prom, graduation, braces on day/braces off day photos for us to display! Please email your photos to [email protected]
Even with the more difficult times we are going through, we still have so much to be thankful for. The bounty that this country provides, good health, the kindness of people around us, our wonderful patients, our families. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, from all of us here at Stuart and Davidson!
Reconciliation through education, every child matters. We must ensure that residential school survivors are not forgotten.
The school year begins today for most areas. Many parents, teachers and students are feeling anxious and it is easy to understand why. In order for the parents or families in our clinic to have time to be with their loved ones for the first day, our clinic will be closed. We wish everyone well at this unprecedented time.
This is what we do every single day. And we love it. We see changes at every appointment and when the treatment is all done, we inevitably see tears of happiness. But it’s understandable because the teeth are straighter and the bite more functional. Every patient has a custom treatment plan designed for them by our orthodontists, going into treatment. Depending on the case and on patient compliance, they can be finished in 18 months. Some things are just worth waiting for! We can even show you what to expect with a virtual model! So, come see us! We are in your community!!
Happy Canada Day to everyone!
Happy Father’s Day, to all those men in our lives who we know or have known. Those who have carried us when we have needed a wee lift. We wish each and everyone of you a happy day.
We are open! The changes we have made are to provide a more safe environment for our team and our patients. All of us are looking forward to seeing our patients once again!
We welcomed back our staff this week and finally got to celebrate Dr. Stuart’s 50th Birthday (2 months late)! And yes, we are all smiling behind our masks as we are excited to be back in the office and have made the proper changes to be able to see our patients safely! Remember to be patient with our front desk team as they will be calling everyone to rebook their missed appointments. See you soon!
High Five! Today the health authority announced a date for Dentistry to re-open! But Take Five! June 5th is a great date but we will not be seeing you that day. There are FIVE steps to re-opening:... 1. Approval granted from health authority 2. Regulations need to be issued by our regulatory body (this is mandated by the health authority as a requirement for us to open and we have not yet received these) 3. We must implement the guidelines/regulations. Although we have been anticipating these changes based on other provinces across the country, we need to see what our provincial guidelines are and make sure we follow them precisely to ensure the safety of you and our team. Part of this step is training our team on any new protocols 4. Urgent care patients will be seen first (eg: patients who have had surgery and have not been seen.) PLEASE NOTE that broken brackets and broken retainers DO NOT qualify as urgent care. 5. We will reach out to start booking all other patients. Please do not call or email the office to book an appointment. Regulations may limit the treatment we can initially offer so we will rebook patients in the order they were initially booked so you will not be skipped. We will also reach out to you if you did not have an appointment. We truly cannot wait to see you but just as you have been patient in helping to flatten the curve to not overwhelm our healthcare system, please be patient while we prepare to safely open and catch up on two months of missed appointments. We will be in touch as soon as we have more details!
It has always been our philosophy to stay ahead of the curve in technology, and even before the pandemic mandated all dental and orthodontic offices to close, we were already using Surgically clean air purifiers Surgically Clean Air to provide the best quality air for our patients and our staff. These world-class, medical-grade air purifiers were designed for the SARS outbreak and they remove chemicals, toxins, germs, odours, and most importantly kill airborne viruses, such as Covid-19. Think of it as Purell for the air. Stay well and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Wishing you all a beautiful day. We hope your day is spent with Mothers either in play, in reflection, sending a message, with FaceTime, looking through photos or visiting that special place in our hearts that hold all our precious memories.
Protect your braces! Don’t bite into that apple, no matter how tempting! Rather cut small slices and break off little pieces to chew. We will be back, and if you have been brushing, flossing and watching what you eat, your treatment will proceed beautifully. It may take a little longer, but we will be so happy to see each other, it will be great!
During these times we have learned to take more care to make sure that things last, stay effective and keep working longer. Invisalign retainers are one of these things. 1)Take your Invisalign trays out every morning and clean both your trays and your teeth to remove any bacterial buildup in the night. 2)Always brush and floss your teeth after eating and before putting your retainers back in. 3)While they are in, avoid drinking coffee or tea or anything that will stain the re...tainer. 4)When you take them out to eat, always rinse them in warm, not hot water. Hot water could change their shape. You can give them a brush with a soft brush, but don’t use toothpaste as it is too abrasive and can make them cloudy-looking. 5)To give them a more thorough clean you can immerse them in Polident retainer cleaner for 15 minutes per day. 6)Always put them in their case so that they do not get exposed to air. This can cause bacterial growth. Following these simple guidelines, you will not only preserve the life of your Invisalign retainer, but also your breath will smell a lot fresher. Keep smiling, we will get through this. See more
