Cheers to the New Year! (Oh, and to summers in Kelowna- take me back!) 2020! It took from us....but truly, ... It gave to us! It gave us the ability to stop and realize what’s important. It gave us a reason to appreciate and want to experience all this life has to offer. It gave us the opportunity to open our hearts and take care of one another, and ourselves. It reminded us of how blessed we truly are with all we have, and with who we have. So let’s go into 2021 with gratitude, with the excitement of our reignited dreams and goals and with the determination to SMASH them! Happy New Year!

2021 is almost here! It’s time to reflect on 2020 - it was, well, 2020, but we’ve learned some lessons, faced some hardships had grown as individuals. Time to look forward and focus on YOU and your goals for a new year! Whatever your goals may be, you deserve health, happiness and success in the coming year.... With the proper training and guidance in your fitness, nutrition and mindset you can absolutely achieve your goals and make habits for a long term, maintainable lifestyle and not just a New Years resolution. Make 2021 the year you change your life I’m doing something new and exciting for my SMASH 2021 New Year Transformation Challenge ! The program will run for 8 weeks and at the end of the challenge we will have a mini one day retreat! The focus will be on you and what you have achieved throughout the challenge! It will include a day of fitness, nutrition, beauty and will include a mini fitness photo shoot to commemorate your achievements! Of course this is all Covid pending and we will adjust accordingly! It’s almost here! Although it’s a bit different this year, most of us will likely still enjoy a Christmas dinner and be tempted with all the delicious treats! Here’s a few tips to help you enjoy your holiday without going off the rails! ... 1. Plan your week of eating in advance- just like you always do! Make sure you know what you are eating for every meal- of course Christmas Day is the exception! 2. For your Christmas meal focus mainly on veggies first and a good protein. Start by eating these first and then pick your favourite extras after these are consumed. 3. Watch your portion sizes - take a smaller plate and don’t fill it. Wait a bit after you eat before you decide if you’d like to have a bit more. 4. Drink LOTS of water throughout the week and especially on Christmas Day - try to stick with your 3litre minimum! 5. Stay active throughout the week. Get all of your scheduled workouts in and on Christmas Day try to go for a nice long walk! 6. Everything in moderation. Think of the 80/20 rule- if you are eating well 80% then you can have that 20% for indulgences! This will keep you from feeling deprived and let you enjoy your holiday food! 7. Be kind to yourself! Life is meant to be enjoyed, so enjoy the day, enjoy the food and don’t be hard on yourself when you do! Oh how I missed our annual #bootcampbabes Christmas party this year! This is a throwback to one of the best with some of the best Bootcamp is more than just a tough workout. It’s friendship, support, encouragement, motivation and the best community of people who would have each others back no matter what. I’ve been so fortunate over the years to have been able to coach so many amazing individuals and today I am thankful for all of you and the relationships we have built, past and present!
