Studying Healing Plants Through Art: Drawing with Thread Thursday, Nov. 5 2PM 4PM... On Thursday November 5th, join us for a FREE root threads workshop with artist mel monoceros. mel enjoys creating embroidery based on the study of healing plants. The act of spending time with nature, and creating a piece of artwork about nature can be meditative and healing - whether it is through the process of embroidery, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, video, and printmaking the list goes on! Join us in-person at the Art Gallery or via ZOOM to participate! Try your hand at stitching as you create a botanical illustration through drawing with thread. If you’re not an embroiderer, why not try something new!? Be imaginative and get creative! This workshop is a brilliant way to learn about plants and the act of art-making! If you would like to attend in-person or via ZOOM, please call 727-1036 to register. Embroidery kits, generously donated by mel, may be picked up at the AGSM by those who have registered. If you wish to participate but live out of town, we are also able to mail embroidery kits. ________________________________________________ ~ Black-Eyed Susan by artist Karen Smith ~ (past participant of mel's workshop)
