Saturday at the Theatre NorthWest: Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus by Taylor Mac presented by Anna Russell! In Gary, Taylor Mac's singular world view intersects with Shakespeare's first tragedy, Titus Andronicus. In Mac's extraordinary new play, set during the fall of the Roman Empire, the years of bloody battles are over. The civil war has ended. The country has been stolen by madmen, and there are casualties everywhere. And two very lowly servants are charged with cleani...ng up the bodies. It's the year 400 - but it feels like the end of the world. Two showings at 2PM and 7PM. Limited tickets at: https://tickets.theatrenorthwest.com//tmEv/tmEvent183.html

On a First Name Basis by Norm Foster stage reading tomorrow at Theatre NorthWest! Not many tickets left! Purchase them here: https://tickets.theatrenorthwest.com/TheatreManag/1/online... "Norm Foster's On a First Name Basis tells the story of a very successful, but cantankerous, novelist who suddenly discovers that he knows nothing about his maid of 28 years. She, on the other hand, knows absolutely everything about him! He makes it his mission to learn all he can about her in a most engaging conversation. With revelations that are surprising, funny, and extremely moving, this is a love story, a social commentary, and a mystery wrapped in witty dialogue and vivid imagery."

SMOKE STURGEON written and directed by Prince George's very own Solomon Goudsward! This stage reading is set in Prince George and is a philosophical comedy about a philosophical drama based on a melancholic poet's search for meaning and clarity amidst the hazy landscapes of the self and the industrial urban North. That being said, it's actually pretty entertaining. Taking on spirituality and Shakespeare with an absurdist wit, Smoke Sturgeon is a postmodern delight for the tor...tured artist in us all. Solomon Goudsward as Joel Hayes Ken Goudsward as Narrator/Johnny Appleseed Bradley Charles as Jean-François de Vérité/Frank/George Alex Verge as Clara Thies/Victoria Tyree Corfe as Devil/Angelo Quynlan Adair as God/Sharon Hope Goudsward as Faith This stage reading debuts at Theatre NorthWest Friday night at 7PM! Theatre NorthWest is excited to welcome the community back to the theatre with Stage Readings! And first up is The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde presented by Nechako Community Theatrics Society on October 10! Kerry Betz-Stablein of the Nechako Community Theatrics Society says "The Importance of being Earnest is a fun comedy with a level of absurdity that endures to modern day. Audiences can expect to enjoy impressive characterisation by a talented cast and some g...reat laughs." Tickets are online at: https://tickets.theatrenorthwest.com/TheatreManag/1/online COVID-19 has changed the way we do many things, and performing arts is no exception. Theatre NorthWest is committed to complying with all regional and provincial health regulations, and as such mounting full-scale productions is simply not possible. That said, we want to open our space to the community, and so we are excited to welcome several local groups in to TNW for a series of Stage Readings. We have developed a comprehensive safety plan designed specifically for these events and our space. Community groups are selecting the work, holding the rehearsals, and getting ready to welcome those of you who are comfortable with small scale outings into our space.

Announcing the 2020-2021 Season at the Theatre NorthWest! With community health at the forefront of all of our decisions, we are preparing for a truncated 2020-2021 season. Under normal circumstances, Theatre NorthWest produces a season of 4 productions. However, with the global health situation being what it is this year, the organization is planning to produce two shows in the late spring of 2020.... Originally, we had planned to close the season with: ‘Mom’s the Word,’ a comedy about early-motherhood. But now, we are planning to open our season with this side-splitting comedy on April 16, 2021. We will follow it up with a musical, which are quickly becoming a TNW tradition. This year will feature: ‘The Marvelous Wonderettes,’ a musical about a 1950’s song team with music from that era. Tickets and passes will be available online (www.theatrenorthwest.com) at or over the phone (250-563-6969 ext 304). For more information email [email protected]
