Anyone interested in buying low priced land outside of Canada? Winter getaway? Land in Hawaii is going for 6k usd just 25 min drive from Hilo. A few people together could make it allot of fun too. Flights start at 350$ one way. The land in Peace River, AB is still available for use also. Maybe there's a better place than Hawaii?
Went out aand cut the weeds down! Berry bushes doing really well on the swales without being watered. Goji berry has been survinging a few winters even. Also seen a prairie chicken and baby chicks there
Land ownership: We frequently hear the phrase: Man has a natural right to the earth. But that is absurd, for it would be just as correct to say that man has a right to his limbs. If we talk of rights in this connection we must also say that a pine-tree has the right to sink its roots in the earth. Can man spend his life in a balloon? The earth belongs to, and is an organic part of man. We cannot conceive man without the earth any more than without a head or a stomach. The ea...rth is just as much a part, an organ, of man as his head. Where do the digestive organs of man begin and end? They have no beginning and no end, but form a closed system without beginning or end. The substances which man requires to maintain life are indigestible in their raw state and must go through a preparatory digestive process. And this preparatory work is not done by the mouth, but by the plant. It is the plant which collects and transmutes the substances so that they may become nutriment in their further progress through the digestive canal. Plants and the space they occupy are just as much a part of man as his mouth, his teeth or his stomach. How, then, can we suffer individual men to confiscate for themselves parts of the earth as their exclusive property, to erect barriers and with the help of watchdogs and trained slaves to keep us away from parts of the earth, from parts of ourselvesto tear, as it were, whole limbs from our bodies? Is not such a proceeding equivalent to self-mutilation? Land Share Project for Penticton, BC - Aiming towards sustainable small style houses. Check out the webpage & send me a message if your interested in the project :) Webpage link: https://yousolu.weebly.com/penticton-sustainable-tiny-house FB link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PentictonLandShare/... Cheers everyone :)
Smaller houses could be a possible solution.
Not too much is happening with the land right now. Its available for lease still, with a max of 2 dwellings technically. Iv moved away for the winter, and am still pursuing some sort of balance of technology and working with nature. I signed up with companys online & am looking to do some permaculture work in BC possibly. One of the companys I signed up with was TGN because they network with people who are into self sustainability and offer courses on it.... They have lots of material, like how to heal your teeth & cavitys, and the 2019 Food Summit, with about 35 experts on how to grow your own food. The free part is available from March 18 for 7 days. Here is the link for the free how to's: http://ddddddd.ontraport.com/t?orid=343873&opid=229 If want to see how they're healing cavitys, Ill put the link in the comments. Hope everyones pursuing their dreams . Even if it aint EZ. :) Like my Dad said, do at least one thing you don't like every day.
Update! -Few bears made a mess! 8 plants are still standing (hopefully they last the winter!), the 1/3 mile long easement is 100% finalized, all is well :) . This long term project is continuing on! For now, its available to be used as a quite refuge from our busy lives. Solar, shelter and a camp spot available if anyone wants to try it out!
Exciting news for the property, just wrapping up an easement for 1 of the 2 private property owners for road access! Hopefully we can strike a deal with the second owner soon! The lands still an open canvas, any dreams for a cabin in the woods, year round greenhouse or a tiny house campground built into an entire edible landscape? The sky is the limit. I always thought it would be great to partner with others, growing food, making power on site and providing enough to share... with as many neighbors as possible. Hopefully enough for a decent income. :) Planting the entire landscape with edible plants and trees. And in 3, 5, 10 or 15 years, maybe open up a area as a 'you pick ' for people to come. With permaculture principals it's possible to build a landscape that's self supporting, capturing and holding the water, cleaning water, creating a near perfect micro environment for the edible and beneficial plants we want! Building the land up and living off the cleanest food would be amazing, not to mention when those plants and us are in our 30s, 50s, 80s, when we are 110 years old and eating the rarest and highest quality foods possible. A mature hazelnut trees nuts are a hot commodity ! Super healthy, full of energy, right at our doorstep, a rock solid sustainable food source that we can share and educate others on. What's your dream?!
Uploaded a bunch of pictures from 2017 summer & updated the website a bit. Also featured some Natural law videos I have been studying. Map of Ecovillages & related community related projects, listed from https://ecovillage.org! 8 in Canada, but most likely their is more on other websites. As for 3hands, and its 53 acres, it is still up for use as a common recreational property. But use of the recycled building, camping gear and solar power can be used if anyone would like to check the place out. Feel free to share the project with anyone who is looking for a semi permanent place to camp (&more) for the summer or winter.
Jan 21, 2018 CBC mentions a Canadian small town of 2,000 to create a platform for a volunteers to work together to be self sustainable. Said to be one of the first. This is using the www.onesmalltown.org philosophy paired with the www.ubuntuplanet.org ideas on contribution to slowly incorporate into our lives, thus creating a more ideal lifestyle. Im not doing these 2 websites justice, check it out.
Looking for a quiet place to get away this summer? Bring your tent or try out the recycled cabin. If you like your stay, buy into the property.
