Happy Friday! What is your favourite fancy alcohol-free bevie?
Go for a stroll. Recovery and excercise go hand-in-hand. Moving our bodies as well as our minds is a simple and effective way to stir up positive emotions. Thankfully The Ranch provides an incredible place to excercise both mind and body at the same time. #mindfulness #recovery #ranchrecovery
~Respect Recovery~ This is a hard season for many. People struggling with addiction and those in recovery will be surrounded by some who find many, many, MANY reasons to "celebrate/partake" in the holiday season. Be aware of those who have chosen recovery or those who are trying to find recovery.
MUSIC MONDAY!!! We have new songs added to our recovery playlist (as we will every Monday). You following yet? Thank you for your suggestions... and keep 'em coming! #Recoveryispossible #fuelyourmood #NowPlaying
late night ponders.... Thoughts?
Pretty cozy at the Lodge today.
To those struggling with addiction, Here are some facts that are nearly impossible to see/believe when addiction has you blindfolded while whispering lies in your ear, and these facts remain true and firm regardless of whether you are struggling with addiction/mental health issues or not: - YOU ARE NOT ALONE - YOU ARE NOT HOPELESS... - YOU ARE NOT WITHOUT HOPE Reach out to someone you trust, or reach out to us anytime. There is always someone to talk to. (888) 996-6306 or http://ow.ly/etfE50CmTsY
Part of the holistic approach to treatment is identifying our creative abilities and nurturing those to become useful and therapeutic ways to process and cope with our emotions. Here are some beautiful pieces of art that were gifted to our Kairos House here at The Ranch. #RanchRecovery #arttherapy #recoveryispossible

Boundaries are guidelines for what we will tolerate and what we will absolutely not tolerate in our own personal lives. This includes how we allow others to participate in our lives. Boundaries are set to protect to our core values, morals, hopes and dreams. Although it is not easy (and usually quite intimidating) to set boundaries with the ones you love most, it is WORTH IT to feel good, whole and SAFE in your social circle and in your own life. YOU ARE WORTH IT.
Oh... and no hangovers! SOBER OCTOBER! Keep on keeping on all you recovery warriors!! ... To any sober curious people, join us for October. We are proof that recovery is possible. We are here to encourage and help you along the way. Reach out any time with questions or when you need encouragement.
One of our resident pooches, Arielle is demonstrating our safety protocols quite nicely. She needs to work on getting the mask over her nose, but we’ll let it slide this time. #wearamask #ranchrecovery
YOUR CIRLCE MATTERS! Is it time to shrink your circle??

Drugs and alcohol are not the problems. Counsellor Joanna talks about the "real problems" for clients who attend addiction treatment.

It is normal to be scared of attending treatment! It is even normal to be scared of recovery! (check out our blog on the "Fear of Recovery" in the comments section.) One of our recent clients, Kirk, shares about his emotions arriving at the Ranch and how his stay with us has helped. Side note: the small clip of the song at the end of this video is a song Kirk and his fellow clients wrote about The Ranch during one of the music therapy classes. ... ***We take great care to keep our client's treatment completely confidential. However, there are times when client's are happy to spread the news about their recovery and experience with us. Thanks to Kirk for sharing his story.
This journey that we are on is ever-changing. Today is now and present, so we evaluate and embrace the current situation. We can always put one foot in front of the other towards health and happiness. As long as we’re moving, we’re changing. For better or worse, the choice is ours.
We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again: To anyone who feels like there is no way out: Autumn is a season of change. Some of nature will die to its current state for a short time. Some of nature will lay down to rest hoping to have taken all the necessary precautions to survive the coming months. And some of nature will use every ounce of strength they have just to endure and survive the journey that lies ahead. It is guaranteed, though, that over the next few months chan...ge will happen and all of nature will come out the other side ready to bloom and very hungry for life. Autumn reminds us of those on the journey to recovery. Anyone who has been struggling with addiction and who has decided for themselves that they want to find a beautiful life again. They have decided that they want live without the burden of guilt, shame, loneliness, blame and sickness because THEY (and YOU) ARE WORTH IT. That life is possible, but it will take a season of change. The journey is not easy, but it is possible and so incredibly worth it on the other side. Keep on keeping on, all you recovery warriors. And to anyone who is in the midst of the struggle... reach out. TALK. To anyone you trust. TALK! If you don’t have anyone you trust, call us, even just to talk about first steps. There is a way out! 1 (888) 996-6306 See more

RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE! It's always a gift to see clients shine hard on their recovery and being REAL about the journey. It's not always a walk in the park, but it is so very worth it. YOU ARE WORTH IT! We are so happy for you Beth. Thank you for your kind words, but more importantly, thank you for being a recovery warrior, putting in the hard work, and giving hope to so many that need it. You prove that recovery is possible!

Sometimes people need space. Time to themselves. Time to process. Our clients have opportunities to participate in silent retreats where they are offered a day to be silent with time for themselves on our property. This is one of the places that many of our clients choose for silent retreat... and why not?
DESPACHO A gratitude ceremony where clients breathe their intentions into a prayer bundle or offering gathered from nature in our local surroundings. The bundle can then be burnt, buried, or sent downstream. For anyone reading this that has never attended treatment or holistic therapy, we understand that this can sound a little "hippy-dippy" (for lack of a better term). :) ... One thing our clients discover very quickly when they arrive at treatment is that when we allow ourselves to be open to learning any methods/tools to may help us thrive in our recovery, then we are more apt to discover which of those methods/tools work best for us as individuals. #addictionrecovery #ranchrecovery
