Casting Call WORMIES Short Film Chosen Chicken Productions. Non union/ possible ULB UBCP TBC Pay: $500 honorarium... Outside Dates Feb 14 - 28 th Director: Octavian Kaul Writer: Octavian Kaul Producers: Libby Kaul & Octavian Kaul Casting Director: Jacqui Kaese Locals to Victoria Vancouver Island. Self tape auditions by INVITATION ONLY previous auditions will not be up for consideration again - thank you, Please submit digital Headshot and Resume to [email protected] Family members will be matched to a little brother character already cast with brown hair and brown eyes. Storyline: In 80s suburban America, a single mother and her two kids, estranged since a family tragedy, are forced to work together when the youngest child’s strange new pet mutates into an evil Monster. [HEATHER] Female, any ethnicity, to play 17. On top of the general discomfort and frustrations of growing up, Heather has been rocked by her father’s death. Since the incident, she has felt increasingly controlled by her mother, who no longer allows her the freedoms once granted by her father, only making her feel his absence more. The only thing unbroken in her home is her strong relationship with her little brother Lucas. With such an important, prominent figure in her life like her father ripped from her so suddenly, Heather has refused to rely on anybody else for help, convincing herself she’s fine on her own, when really she’s afraid to trust again, lest that person leave her life like her father did. When the Wormi mutates, Heather naturally tries to solve the issue on her own, but is soon forced to realize that she has to accept help in order to defeat the creature, and that you need to have people in your life you can trust and rely on. [SUSAN] Female, any ethnicity, to play 50. Violently ripped from suburban bliss when her husband died a year prior, Susan has been trying desperately to hold things together at home and find a new normal for her and her children. However, her husband’s absence and the fear of her children inevitably leaving her alone has led to her denying her children the experience of growing up, straining her relationship with her daughter. When Lucas’ birthday gift mutates into a horrifying creature, she is forced to confront this flaw and allow her daughter to take charge and fight with her against the monster. Strict Covid procedures followed on set in line with government rules and regulations.
