The kids learned their farm chores; fed the laying hens and collected the eggs. Highlight was holding the 3 day baby chicks, learning to speak turkey and feeding pigs from the pear tree. The afternoon was spent making journals in the garden where we will reflect on all the exciting things we will learn and do at the farm over the next 7 weeks! We’d love to have you join us! FALL FARM SCHOOL DAYS starting soon Vibrant Farms Organic Beef We have had lots of great feedback from our summer Farm Camp and further interest in continuing this kind of experience for kids into the Fall. With the current COVID-19 situation and the unpredictability in the public school system these days, I’ve decided this is something we can offer to help parents who are looking for alternative forms of education this fall. I absolutely love sharing the farm and the natura...l discovery that exists when kids get to engage with their natural environment. Fall is an excellent time to visit the farm as there’s always lots going on! We have decided to offer Farm School Days on Thursdays and Fridays for 7 weeks from September 17 and 18 to October 29 and 30. We will have 10 spots for each day which will run from 9 am to 4 pm. It will be $50/child/day. We will ask that each child brings their own lunch, 2 snacks, water bottle, hat, sunscreen, clothes for outdoor play and shoes/boots for the farm. The program will be a combination of child-led learning as well as lessons/crafts/activities we’ll organize. However this will be a loose guideline and often we wont get to all of the activities and sometimes we end up doing other things that the kids want to do! We will try to fill the Friday program first and then will fill Thursdays as needed. Depending on the amount of interest we get, we may also dedicate one day to older kids and the other day to younger kids, so we can curate their learning a little more appropriately to children of similar ages.
