International SOUPerstar Cooking Competition November 13th, 2019 ... Calling all chefs! Do you make a great soup? Join our competition and help us raise funds for charity while celebrating the many culinary cultures we share at Fleming. The competition is open to all Fleming students. The event will have a maximum of six teams, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 students per team. Class schedules can be busy, but at least 2 participants per team must be available throughout the event for cooking, presenting, and cleaning up. It is expected that teams will complete the pre-work (selecting the recipe, completing the food requisition, etc.) by November 6th. Ingredients will be purchased for the teams, or in cases where teams purchase special items they will be reimbursed. Competition timelines: 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm Soup preparation in Culinary Lab A3 145 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tasting and presentation to industry judges and local celebrities in the Sutherland Campus Main Foyer 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm Awards 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Cleaning up The winners will receive a trophy and FreshCo gift card, as well as pride in having raised funds for local charities!
