Christmas Cheer looks a little different this year. Students will not be collecting & packing food donations. Instead we are asking for monetary donations for the Thunder Bay Christmas Cheer Fund. Manufacturing Technology...our future creators & designers! In these pictures, students are using a computer design and control program called Fusion 360. In this course, students develop knowledge and skills in design, fabrication and problem solving, using tools and equipment such as engine lathes, milling machines, and welding machines, print reading, computer numerical control (CNC), robotics, and design. Students have the opportunity to acquire industry-standard certification and training along with an awareness of environmental and societal issues related to manufacturing. Students also learn about secondary school pathways that lead to careers in the industry.

November is Financial Literacy month. Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario is here to help with our Financial Literacy themed, 2-hour virtual event - No Limits 2020 on November 26 at 9:00 a.m. Parents, teachers, and students are welcome to sign up for this event. By attending, students will also receive follow-up resources to support their Financial Literacy learning, a Certificate of Participation, and be entered in a draw for five $100 gift cards for engagement.... Teachers and parents will have access to various workshops offered by CPA Ontario on how to speak to students about money management. Congratulations to Westgate student Alexis Paddington! This week, Alexis committed to attend Minnesota State University, Mankato (#MNSUMankato #Mankato #mavfam) on National Signing Day in the US. Along with her academic program, Alexis will be playing hockey & tennis for the university. Best wishes on your exciting journey!

To Westgate's Graduating Class of 2020 ... as a result of ongoing restrictions relating to the pandemic, there will unfortunately be no graduation ceremony this month as we had hoped. We wish our graduates a lifetime of happiness, success and good health. Always Only the Best, tigers!
