Westview Christian Fellowship had a wonderful thanksgiving celebration this year. During this season of Covid where good news is limited, we received a phone call from a local business man which ended in very good news. He offered to pay for our mortgage! This was such a wonderful surprise for all of us and we continue to live in the afterglow of this incredible gift. To celebrate this occasion we had a mortgage burning ceremony giving everyone a copy of the mortgage and the opportunity to take ownership of this event. Our commitment is to continue to partner with and support the Queenston Street community.

"Nice People Use Drugs" Last Sunday Caleb Redekop shared about his experience working with people who use drugs. He connected the experience of the stigma he witnessed in this community to Jesus' interaction with the Samaritan woman at the well. For Caleb, connection is the opposite of addiction. According to one reviewer, "Caleb killed it Sunday."... Thanks, Caleb Redekop for joining us Sunday, it was great to get a chance to hear your talk. Hopefully, we'll see you at our annual bike ride again next year if not sooner.

As Jane explains in the letter attached, the Pantry is in need of a number of essential items as the Fall and Winter approaches. Over COVID the Pantry has been depleted several times. Although we've been blessed with lots of fresh produce and a bunch of food donations the need continues to outpace our ability to restock essential goods. Please take a moment to read the letter and list of needed items, any donation helps. Westview Centre4Women

Forests exist all over the globe shaping our life and faith in fundamental ways. In the Ethiopian tradition, "the church is like an ark. A shelter for every kind of creature and plant... The trees’ fate is bound to ours, and our fate to theirs. And trees are nothing if not tenacious." Forest Church at Westview is happening this Sunday, 1821 Effingham St. 10:15 am.

Erika had the opportunity to share at Mississauga Mennonite Fellowship (MMF) about her experience at Westview Centre4Women and how it intersects with her faith and church community. A safe place requires no strings attached, no hidden agenda, no power imbalance, and no proselytizing. Safety is about belonging, learning to be there for yourself and each other.
