If any people reading this wonder why balloons and horses don't mix sometimes, this would be one indication that is true. As a part owner of a team of clydesdales who do wagon and sleigh rides we ask that no balloons be present near the wagon or the horses. Apart from the noise they make when they burst which sometimes sounds like a gun going off, they are just a hazard to the equine community period. Our horses are almost bomb proof, safe around children, calm and respectful but there is always that one time when they are not. Our horses never blink an eye at transport trucks, hot air balloons, carnival rides, trains or other animals. But that time when a balloon burst....scared them with a wagon load of people. This post is for our non-horsey friends who don't get it. Be respectful and cautious.
