Here is the info regarding the want for movie extras. Please send all future correspondence to Angela Quinn(casting director) Good luck! I am looking to hire PAID extras to be in our romantic movie-of-the-week shooting in Kelowna right now called ‘Under A Lover’s Moon’ that will air on either the Hallmark Channel, Lifetime or W Network. I am seeking COUPLES ONLY. Since this movie is centered around a couples-only wedding resort where romantic couples are seen everywhere enjoy...ing their vacation (and due to COVID safety protocols) we can only book real couples who are in the same COVID bubble. Age range from 20s-40s preferably. We have the following dates available for consideration Sept. 28 (Poolside Couples) Note that swimwear will be required for these scenes so couples must be comfortable in bathing suits & swim shortsno tattoos (unless they can be covered with makeup or with wardrobe). Fit beach bodies preferred. Sept. 30 (Romantic Couples) Summer attire, swimwear not required. Oct. 1 (Romantic Couples) Summer attire, swimwear not required. Oct. 2 (Romantic Couples) Summer attire, swimwear not required. Oct. 5 (Romantic Couples) Summer attire, swimwear not required. Oct. 6 (Yacht Club Couples) Note: this day cannot be combined with any other dates above. It is a stand-alone booking day that needs different people from anyone used on the other dates mentioned above. We don’t know what will be expected on each of these filming days so there could be a lot of sitting, walking around, possibly some dancingit’s hard to tell since we have had to recently change our shooting schedule to accommodate uncooperative weather. Couples must be fully available (morning, afternoon & evening) to be considered available on any dates mentioned above since we don’t know any times yet so you'll need to keep schedules completely clear on dates that you want to work. You can COMBINE any dates above and work as much as you’d like EXCEPT FOR Oct. 6th (see note included above for this date). Casting call for Hallmark movie!! I have been contacted by the Hallmark casting director who needs 10 couples to be in an upcoming movie. All I know about the m...ovie so far is that it is being shot in Kelowna and it's about a couples honeymoon resort. The shooting takes place on Tuesday, October 6 and you will need to be available ALL day. You will be paid for your time! Hello students! I hope everyone has been coping well with the craziness that is 2020:) As you can imagine this pandemic has hit the dance community hard as it is by nature a close-contact art form. Although no mixed couples group classes have been running, I have been relatively busy with my Ladies Latin Formation groups as well as private lessons over the past couple of months. (Plus I have started taking up golf which I am now seriously enjoying!) Hi there, this is to confirm that the competitor/technique practice will now be held on Sunday's from 12-1:30pm at Robb Card Dance Studio starting this Sunday, May 31:) We have room for 15 students. Booking is a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority is given to competition/performance students. All protocols will be explained upon arrival. Masks are worn at your discretion. Hello there:) It looks like the studios will all be ready to accept students again next week! Of course it will look a bit different from before. I will definitely be starting to teach private lessons next week so all of those of you who have expressed interest in getting back ASAP please contact me to book your spots. I will be more clear as to what precautions you will need to take before, during, and after the class when you book your private.... The group classes are a bit more tricky. The Ladies Latin Formation classes will be fine to start as normal since we can easily space you all 6 feet from one another and there is no contact between students anyway. The couples classes will need to be quite different. These classes are the ones held at Dual Influence Latin Dance Studio. Samantha has marked out spaces on the floor(6 feet apart) and there is room for 10 singles/couples. This will mean not everyone would be able to attend at the same time. As the beginner class has close to 30 students. There would be no partner changing so if you were not already coming to class with a partner you live with, we would need to A) either partner you up with someone that you would stay with for the remainder of the session or b) have you wait to come back to group classes once we are able to go back to the way things were before. Anyone choosing to not return to the group classes(for whatever reason) also have the option of using their fees paid towards private lessons from me as well:) My question to you is how many of you are interested in getting back to classes as early as Monday, June 8? Or would you prefer to wait a little longer to see how things go? All of you who have made payments for the last session(of which we only had 1 class) will always have that credit to use at anytime in the future. So no need to worry if you want to wait. I am just trying to get a sense of how eager you all are to start moving again:) We can either continue with the remainder of the Salsa/Jive session starting on June 8 and finishing on July 20 with all those ready to get back dancing, or wait until September to see how things go with the pandemic. I am happy to do whatever the majority want. I can also run classes if there are some, but not all, who are interested, assuming it is economically feasible. Hello to all my students:) I sincerely hope you are weathering this Covid storm well. I have not heard any good news yet regarding when dance studios may be able to reopen. My guess is that private lessons will be allowed soon but group classes probably not until July or August:(... I have started doing online private lessons for anyone who is interested. 'YouTube Live' Salsa Shine Class!! Saturday, May 2, 2020 7-8pm Hi everyone, I have had many of you let me know you are itching to get back to dancing(even if it has to be in you own home:) So I am happy to announce I will be doing a ‘YouTube Live’ dance lesson This Saturday, May 2 at 7pm! As most of you are home alone with no dance partner, I have decided to teach a variety of Salsa shines:)... These are dance movements that are done without a partner. Anyone can try this even if you have not danced Salsa before. So get your non-dancing partners, kids or even your dog involved:-) It will start off basic and then move into intermediate Shines and finally some advanced moves for those of you who want a challenge! I will be streaming this live from my living room directly to yours. Hello everyone, I can't tell you how much I miss seeing all of your happy, dancing faces:) I realize that so much of my exercise, socializing and interaction on a daily basis is really tied with all of you. I have always appreciated that I am able to make my living from teaching dance, but it has been high-lighted even more by this predicament we find ourselves in. As a result of this disruption to my routine I am finding I am eating and drinking more and as a result gaining ...weight! I have started going to Mount Boucherie and hiking up all the trails there which has been great:) I wish I could say I am being more productive with all of this extra time but I feel a bit lost with my usual schedule organizing my every minute. How have you all been? Hello everyone, It has been a full week of no teaching/dancing for me and I have to say I MISS YOU ALL:( I completely underestimated how quickly it would take for me to start missing my weekly lessons, both group class & private. I sincerely hope you are all keeping healthy and STAYING HOME as much as possible. I admit that Jeni and I have gone for walks almost daily(in mostly empty park trails) to get some much needed fresh air and exercise:) Other than that we are catching ...up on housework, binge-watching tv and playing a multitude of different games:-) YOUTUBE TUTORIAL I have been asked by a number of students if I could post some dance videos for everyone to keep up on what we are missing; so I have attempted my first YouTube dance video. WARNING! it is very amateur:) I have no experience doing this nor do I have the proper equipment but I suppose the info is there.
