There is so much misinformation being spread that I think its important to explain a few things. Our store is open legally and has met all the requirement under Oshawas Fireworks Bylaw. We have been inspected by OFD and are permitted to sell fireworks. You are legally allowed to discharge said consumer fireworks as per the same bylaw. ... Please see this press release from the Oshawa Firefighters Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/729856613748240/posts/3068056799928198/?d=n I hope that removes any doubt. Stay safe. Stay distant. Enjoy responsibly. Visit us at 100 Bloor St E

I had a lovely conversation with Oshawa Fire Dept today when they visited thanks to a call from Brian Nicholson. He also called bylaw. Even though I showed him the part of the bylaw that allowed for us to be open he still decided to expose city employees for some reason. I have no idea why Brian decided to focus on Burn The Sky Fireworks and no other retailers. What say you Brian? Do you now admit that you read the bylaw wrong? And why would you only target my busines...s? What was your motivation for running to the Fire Chief himself? This is my problem Brian. First, you posted on my wall "You need a permit to sell within city limits. Do you have a permit?" This is factually inaccurate. In fact, it is just plain wrong, but thanks for sticking your nose in to educate me. I politely replied to your message with factually accurate information. I didn't say you were wrong. I said that I believe you are mistaken. I was polite and provided accurate information. You then doubled down and quoted Oshawa's Fireworks Bylaw. Do you not think that I have every word of that document memorized? I own a fireworks business in the city. You do not. Rather than debate I simply posted the part of the bylaw that does, in fact, allow me to be open. It reads "6. PERMANENT SALES LOCATIONS 6.1 A Fireworks Sales Permit is not required to sell Fireworks from a Permanent Sales Location." This is where you pissed me of Brian. Rather than debate or concede, both adult behaviors, you, like the little man child you are posted elsewhere on my wall that I "spend too much time on my side gig." I was going to let that slide as a possible light-hearted joke until my visit by OFD today. Then I realized that for some reason you choose to disparage me when we have never had beef before. Don't you dare question my commitment to my clients and my career. Then you took it one step further today. You exposed city employees during a pandemic to settle this score. How dare a citizen question Brian Almighty's interpretation of a Bylaw? You are a petty little man and while I've never had an issue with you in the past you can bet that I have one with you now. If anyone is planning to run against Brian in the next election, please let me know. I will be donating to your campaign. In fact, a portion of the proceeds from this week will be donated to your campaign. And in case you were wondering, I had a lovely chat with Oshawa Fire, as I always do. We are open and ready for your business. It seems Councillor Brian Nicholson has no idea how to read a bylaw. Happy Canada Day everyone.

Matt Lenix and I made a decision immediately following the announcement from the Fire Chief that we would fully support the decision to protect the public by banning fireworks this Victoria Day. This ban was effective across Durham Region and treated all fireworks companies equally. You may have heard fireworks tonight. It stung a little bit. Ive been contacted many times asking if we are selling. I can assure you that any fireworks you hear this weekend in Oshawa were not ...sold by us. Burn The Sky Fireworks is working hard to change the image of the industry. It would be stupid to jeopardize our credibility for the sale of a few hundred dollars worth of fireworks. If you are missing fireworks this weekend, we have a petition on our website www.burnthesky.ca asking for Council to approve fireworks on Labour Day. And if everyone behaves themselves and our numbers look good, Im hopeful that we can return by Canada Day. Enjoy your long weekend and stay safe.

Lets not let the entire summer go by without once burning the sky. Please read the article and sign the petition. https://www.durhamradionews.com/archives/126188

Burn The Sky Fireworks 28.03.2020

Please visit www.burnthesky.ca to sign the petition requesting that since Victoria Day and Canada Day fireworks have been cancelled, we are requesting that Oshawa's Fireworks Bylaw be amended to include Labour Day in 2020. I, for one, need to celebrate something. Join us.

But don't worry because we are adjusting our business to make sure that you have access to all your favourite pyrotechnics. Keep an eye out for www.burnthesky.ca or www.burntheskyfireworks.com as we will soon be launching our online store. Stay safe everyone.

RFP - Burn The Sky Fireworks is looking for some help creating a website. We have grown to the point where we need an online presence beyond our Facebook page. We need to create an online store which can be modified. We need new email. Experience with Wix or godaddy is ok but open to anything. Send any questions or your proposal to [email protected]. A willingness to work for explosives would be ideal.
