Would you consider contributing to the community garden fundraiser by purchasing a calendar? Some examples of photos are attached. Calendar description: Scenes in our Calvary community garden in every season of the year were painted by local artists Paul Monroe, Steve Ray, Crystal Kerr, and one painting by visiting artist Danae Hoppe of St Louis, MO. ... Inspirational writings by local writer Pam Shepherd accompany each painting. Digital photographs of the paintings by local photographer Kathryn Crompton were used in production of the calendar. This is a wall calendar (large size approximately 12x12 pages). Cost is $23.00 per calendar. All proceeds support the growing of fresh fruit and vegetables for donation to local food programs such The One Roof Community Centre and The Good Neighbour Care Centre. Calvary Community, while you have been reflecting this past weekend on all of the things you are grateful for, we are hoping that someone is able to meet a very real need for an individual in our church family. A woman and her daughter are greatly in need of housing. An ideal temporary solution would be a room that could be provided for them in exchange for home cleaning and cooking (offered by the individual) or a small rental fee. If you have the space in your home or you ...know of an affordable housing situation for this individual please private message us and we discuss the details further. Celebration Sunday RECAP. This past Sunday was such an awesome celebration on campus as we safely worshipped together, celebrated Harold Adams being baptized in water and cheered on Stephanie and Aaron as they dedicated their little guy Knox to the Lord. Thank you to the staff team and the volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure a safe gathering experience for this special Sunday.... Walking Group update: The Nature Walk this Saturday October 3, will take us out of town to walk the Stony Lake Trail, part of the Kawartha Land Trust. https://kawarthalandtrust.org/discover-new-trails-by-drew-/... We are meeting at NOON at the Coffee Time located at Hwy 28 and Hwy 7 and we will set out together. It is about a 30 minute drive with lots of opportunity to peep at leaves. On the way, we will pick up some corn and have a corn roast (corn boil?) at the cottage of our fellow hikers, Paul and Jennifer Van Luyk. Anyone is welcome to join us! Dress for the weather, sensible shoes etc. We will decide together just how much of the trail we will tackle but be sure, it will be a comfortable pace - there are no Olympians among us. Jen Brinsmead will be our "tour guide" . She is very good at recognizing birds by their calls as well as the many plants of the area. We will be in good hands. Kids and dogs on leashes are welcome. We will do the appropriate physical distancing and being respectful of nature and other people in the park. If it is raining - we will postpone it to another time. VOLUNTEER SHOUT-OUT We are SO grateful for the many individuals who have stepped up in this season to move the mission of Calvary Church forward. Many don’t see the behind the scenes of not just what the staff team puts in, but also the amazing volunteers who come in week to week to prepare meals to bless people in our community/church family, or clean and sanitize to make sure our facility is safe for gathering.... New projects have been made from scratch without complaint, worship members and hosts have overcome the dreaded video recording jitters, and many of you have used your gifts and skills to rally around our team (many of whom are new) in what is a truly unique season of ministry. So THANK YOU. We see you!
