Support for Camp Wetaskiwin Good Morning: Many people expressed an interest in helping Camp Wetaskiwin recover from the recent thefts. I have spoken with Scouts Canada and received direction on how to proceed with donations. Please know that I have no expectation of anyone making a donation, but I am sharing the process for those people who would like to make a contribution.... The best and most efficient way to make a donation to Camp Wetaskiwin is through the Scouts Canada Online Donation website which can be accessed through this link. https://www.scouts.ca//donate-t/online-ways-to-donate.html When you click on this link you will be taken to the online donation page and you can fill out the electronic form. Payment will be by credit card. Donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt which you can print right after you submit your donation. The tax receipt is also mailed to you. In the comments sections please put in this statement. THIS DONATION IS TO BE SPECIFICALLY USED FOR CAMP WETASKIWIN ONLY. This way the funds come directly to the camp and we can use them to replace the equipment and materials we have lost and make improvements to the security of the camp. Thanks in advance to those who are considering making a donation. Anything will we receive will be used for the betterment of the facility to ensure that our youth have a safe and fun place to enjoy their Scouting Adventures. Yours in Scouting, Bryce on behalf of the Camp Wetaskiwin Camp Committee

If anybody is interested in supporting the camp after the recent thefts, please following the link and directions in the post below. This is the most direct way to donate to us. If you do not have a credit card, please PM the camp and we may be able to arrange an alternate method. We greatly appreciate any and all support!

Camp Wetaskiwin 09.10.2020

Camp Wetaskiwin has been approved by Scouts Canada to be OPEN for use in Stage 2: Outdoor & Virtual Scouting! There are several new policies and procedures that must be followed for group use (no third-party bookings at this time). 1. All usage MUST be reserved at least 3 days in advance online at scouts.ca/about/camps/overview.html ... 2. All reservations are required to be paid by credit card; no account set-up necessary to make the reservation. 3. When making a reservation, it is important and required to carefully read the Cancellation Policy and the Pandemic Program Policies. 4. Weeknight arrival and departure times need to be strictly adhered to, to ensure staggering of multiple groups. 5. Weekend arrival and departure times also need to be strictly adhered to but there is more flexibility in these times as long as it is communicated with Scott Taylor ([email protected]) to ensure staggering. 6. There will be a Ranger on site for all reservations. You will need to check in upon arrival with your completed paperwork. Required paperwork can be found at https://scoutsca.s3.amazonaws.com//adventure-application-f and https://scoutsca.s3.amazonaws.com//scouting-activity-atten. 7. Accessible Areas are your site, your set of kybos, and all hiking trails. 8. Non-accessible Areas are the other two reservable sites and their sets of kybos, washrooms, Potlatch, Lodge, porch of lodge, any other campsite, archery equipment and range, central camp fire pit, and camp activity equipment. 9. There is no potable water available at the camp. 10. Must pack out your own garbage. See more

Thank You Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation! Bryce just returned from Camp Wetaskiwin where we accepted a cheque for $18 000 from the Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation in support of our restoration of the lodge. These funds will help cover the cost of the spray foam insulation that was just installed under the floor, on the main interior ceiling in the lodge, and the bunkhouse where the new furnace will be installed soon. Once the furnace is installed, the lodge will once again be available for year round use. This would not be possible without the continued support of the Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation who have been extremely generous throughout our restoration project. Thank you Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation for helping us provide our youth with the facility we feel they deserve to continue their Scouting Adventures!
