So here is the thing. This is true. If you have kidney disease or it runs in your family, you need to be educated. That's why we had Dr. Robert Breakey on The Plant Trainers Podcast to explain what you need to know and back it up with science.... NEW Plant Trainers Podcast EPISODE IS OUT ! KIDNEY DISEASE - Tag someone who needs this info. In this episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast, we talk with Dr. Robert Breakey about kidney disease.... While kidney disease is not talked about frequently, it does affect 1 - 7 North Americans, and can seriously alter one's quality of life as well as longevity. We cover everything from what the kidneys do, to how to find out if you are having kidney issues, to what the prescription is nutritionally speaking. If you find that you are confused about which foods may worsen kidney stones or CKD you will be extremely clear by the end of this episode. We highly suggest that you share this with anybody who has moderate or severe kidney issues or kidney issues run in their family. And because people who are obese and have other chronic illnesses are likely to end up with kidney issues please send this to them as well. When we first started The Plant Trainers Podcast we did it because we found ourselves in a place we NEVER wanted anyone else to get into. If we could start spreading the science of plant-based nutrition and give people the tools they needed to make it work, then we could keep them from ever going down the roads we had to. That is the message Dr. Breakey shares in the quote while talking about kidney disease on this week's podcast. This weekend marked the beginning of the Jewish Calendar. It is a time to reflect on the continuity of the world. That is why we eat round challah instead of traditional long braided one. The recipe for this vegan challah is on our site at planttrainers.com/recipes. ... Here are our thoughts for the New Year. To those of you celebrating, Shana Tova! Friday night started the first day of the Jewish new year. Most people see January 1st as the new year. Many associate the first day of school as a new year. I have never been so excited to see the Jewish new year come. I look forward to a year of heath for everyone. I look forward to a year of decorum. I look forward to a year of everyone having enough food on their plate. I look forward to a year of all people taking control and getting clean. I look forward to a year of everyone sticking up for each other....or better yet, not having to because all the hate is gone. I look forward to a year of equality. I look forward to a year of trees standing strong and not burning down. I look forward to a year of citizens being safe and not evacuated from their homes. I look forward to a year with no war, no bombs, and no killing. Tonight, as I light my candles and say my prayer, so many people I know and even more people I dont will be in my thoughts. I will wish it. I will dream. I will look forward. I invite you to let go of the thoughts that are keeping you from feeling good...I mean really good. Join me tonight despite your religion, colour or heritage, and start fresh. Let go of what is not serving you and lets all look forward and take action and make it happen. Happy New Year everyone.

CH-CH-CH-CHIA! Remember that commercial...well it was not for chia seeds...but every time we eat them we wish it were! Chia Seeds come from the desert! They are the seeds of a plant called Salvia.... Chia seeds are one of the best antioxidants out there. Did you know, chia seeds have more calcium than milk? Chia also has a high % of fibre, protein, and fat! All the good stuff of course. That high fibre and protein help to keep you full for longer. Their fat is full of omega 3 fatty acids, the good kind of fat! It also helps to balance blood sugar levels, heart disease, and inflammation. So, where are you going to sprinkle your chia seeds this weekend? See more
