WOW, what a year! To help celebrate our ONE year anniversary we decided to build a program. We are so excited to announce our Community Roots Bursary Program. W...e will be posting more details in the upcoming weeks. We have had the opportunity to work with so many fantastic Interlake businesses & organizations this past year! We have new community based programs launching in 2021, and we can’t wait to share the news. We couldn’t have made it through 2020 without the support from our community. Every year we make gingerbread houses at our Christmas party, since we can't be together for it this year we thought we could continue the tradition online! This is open for everyone school aged! Need a place to wait out the gas leak in town?

Unprecedented times. How many times this summer did we hear those words used? It's true it is a weird world we're living in right now. Back in November I planned out our summer, applied for government grants for summer staff and had big plans for what we would do. Then March came and so did Corona Virus, then April, and May, and it was still here. June rolled around and it became evident that our summer wasn't going to look like I had planned. But we still had our government ...grant to use for staffing and so we hired these 6 amazing young adults. Never in my life have I felt so relaxed to leave the Drop-In for a evening or two knowing things will be so well looked after. If I gave them a list that I thought would take 2 or 3 days to burn through they would text me at noon saying they needed more work because everything was finished. These young adults lead the youth of Arborg with such grace and love, we may not have had many kids show up, but the ones that did got so much one on one time and love it was amazing. So yes the summer didn't go as planned. But we still met with youth, we still managed to pull off 3 small fundraisers. We painted the Drop-In and got super organized with all the little projects I never have time to get to... And planned an amazing social distance activity and videos for October (details coming soon). So when I really sit back and look at it, our summer was pretty normal, nothing was the same, but we did what youth leaders do best, we rolled with the punches, adapted and met the kids where they're at. So are these unprecedented times? Maybe, but youth ministry and people as a whole have had much bigger obstacles in our history than needing to stay 6 feet apart and wear a mask. YEP! WE'RE GIVING AWAY ANOTHER NIGHT AT HECLA RESORT! we just had an anonymous donor ask why we weren't doinga large raffle selection this year like we've done in the past. And our Director explained that due to Covid we're keeping things simple and affordable. And this person responded by asking to PAY for our 2 night stay raffle prize! WHAT?! Our community is amazing!!

Last year was a blast! Hope youll join us again tomorrow for a COVID conscious version of our fish fry! Were so excited to have the @walleyewagonmb1 come out and serve some delicious food! With 50% of select items going towards The Drop-In!! Somethings have changed for our fish fry this year due to COVID, theres no live music or jumpy houses, or face paint. But there are giant board games and amazing food and raffle prizes!! And one thing that never changes is our communit...ys support and encouragement.
