She was referred for a Wrist Brace and we were about to get her into a Breg Wrist Brace! Here is what our patient had to saw: In addition to receiving kind, personable service, we found the price of the brace extremely reasonable. We thought it would have cost twice what it did! Following up from Monday's post about Hybrid Prosthetic Braces, here is a Success Story from a patient of Certified Orthotist, Doug Iwasaki. This patient suffered multiple foot and ankle injuries on both sides due to work and sports related incidents. He subsequently had to have surgeries and revisions on both feet and ankles over the last 10 to 15 years and he was told further surgeries were no longer an option for him. He was in discussion about amputation due to signific...ant pain and difficulty walking. Doug heard of this patient’s story and thought he would be a great candidate for a Hybrid Prosthetic Brace. He saw this patient at our office for a full assessment and casting of both feet, ankles, and legs. He then had braces custom fabricated and worked with the team to ensure they were made according to this patient’s specific needs. During this time our team also worked with the insurance provider to have 100% of the cost covered. Once the braces were built, the patient came back in to see Doug for a full fitting. The patient was able to walk immediately with ease, with significantly less pain and felt much better about this option than having to consider an amputation! Most people during the course of their life will experience lower back pain at least once and often the cause of the pain is unknown. When the lower back pain is long term and consistent then it is categorized as Chronic Lower Back Pain. Lower Back Pain can differ from person to person and the pain may be mild or it can be severe enough that you are not able to function properly.
