The winners are in for this year’s Adorn Your Door competition! This has been by far the most exciting and difficult-to-judge year for our decoration contests. So many homes decorated with love and bringing joy to those who pass by! This year we decided to name 3 place winners. The winners are: #1 The Murray Family... #2 The Gale Family #3 The Glennie Family All three places will receive a special Christmas by-the-Sea plaque courtesy of Kingsbrae Gardens. The Murray Family will receive a gift basket for first prize (pictures to follow when plaques are made!) We’ve included some pictures of just some of the considerations although there were too many to post them all!! Thank you everyone for making St. Andrews such a magical place this holiday season!

***Update**** TREE LIGHTING - Now a virtual event. The Lighting of the Christmas lights at Town Hall, Market Square, the Wharf, the lamp posts and the Lobster Trap Christmas Tree will be a virtual event televised on CHCO-TV (Fibe 26, Bell Satellite 539, Rogers 126, and Ignite 133 and Rogers St Andrews 9) at 6:00pm on Friday - November 27th. The reception at Kennedy Inn that was to follow the event has also been cancelled. This is so we can adhere to the guidelines set by Public Health as a result of Zone 2 being moved back to the Orange level.

So today we did the door to door business part of selling our buoys and seeing who wanted to reuse theirs from past years ( this allows all $30 to go to the loc...al food bank). A great success and support from the local community as usual - now it is the time to get individuals to come out and support the project and let us help raise funds for this year. Last year we raised $4000 with donations from individuals plus buoy sales. We are hoping to be close to $3000 this year with the times we are in. Tree is going up this coming Tuesday November 24th and Tree Lighting is Nov 27....hope to see everyone out and about - Remember: Social Distancing for the lighting is advised Masks would be great if you have them Buoys can be purchased at the Red Herring Pub - cash or cheque...thanks again.

For the past few years, we have taken part in the Lobster Trap Christmas tree. This year is no different, we will be doing the tree lighting November 27. I am... only putting this our there to start the conversation - we will not be selling or doing anything until after November 11. Then we will be working hard for two weeks to get buoys out and done - back in time to get them on the tree....you can purchase your buoy back from years past, touch it up, and then we can put it back on the tree...$30 same as years past...stay tuned for when and where you can come and get yours to decorate...ALL MONIES GO TO THE LOCAL FOOD BANK - last year over $4000 was raised and donated...we look forward to you support and help.
