HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Dear parishioners and friends, A lot of people are asking with Thanksgiving approaching this Monday, "what is there to give thanks for in 2020?" While this year has not necessarily been that kind to us, we can still find moments of joy to be thankful for. ... This year, we have seen people help one another in extraordinary ways. In the face of great danger, the sacrificial love is what guided and continues to guide - our front-line workers and all those lending a helping hand during this pandemic. God bless them for all their hard work! So many of you did not forget us when the doors were closed. Your prayers, words of encouragement and generosity meant so much. This year more than any other, we should be very thankful for the chance to worship - and not to take these opportunities for granted. A big thank you to all our volunteers who help out so much within our Community. Each in their way, they want to see future generations connecting with their Greek Orthodox Faith and Heritage. As we celebrate Thanksgiving this year, take a moment to reflect on all the blessings we've experienced. Connect virtually with people outside your bubble, particularly those who need to keep their bubble very small. Remember to pray for them and all those needing an extra prayer. THANK YOU! Every year, #StsNandD #GOEastVan has a luncheon in honour of our feast day. With #COVID19 changing those plans, we still wanted to do something special. That's why we decided to offer a hearty meal for those needing a helping hand. Our Council sponsored the lunch, #Philoptochos made the desserts, and a small group of #volunteers made the meal. Today, over 110 people enjoyed beef stew and dessert! Thank you to everyone who made this happen! The #pandemic has incre...ased the amount of food needed for lunch at the Outreach Centre we work with. #Thankyou to everyone who has supported this ministry of our Community. Due to the provincial limitations on gatherings in Churches to 50 people, Memorials will now take place only on Saturdays (not Sundays) to allow more people to attend. If you would like to have a memorial, please call our Office at least 1 week in advance to book the date. Liturgy will begin at 9:30 am and finish around 11 am.
